Course Unit Description
International value chain literature stresses on the fact that the capability of businesses to successfully respond to customer requirements is now largely based on inter-network relationships, which heavily relies on transport and distribution. In this context, this course provides understanding of the strategic role and links between supply chain and transportation management.
Objectives of the course
- Develop a coherent and cost-effective transportation and distribution strategies for complex business operations.
- Understand the rationale behind transportation and distribution decisions, giving a balanced justification for the basis of decisions.
- Understand the complex business environment in which transportation decisions are made and analyse how changes in the environment require adaptation of transportation plans.
