Course Unit Description
This course is extension of undergraduate Statistical Mechanics. The course covers applications in equilibrium statistical mechanics. Then, cooperative and critical phenomena will follow, and finally non-equilibrium statistical mechanics.
Course Objectives
The objectives of the course are to:
- Discuss the applications of equilibrium in statistical mechanics.
- Explain cooperative phenomena and its application in ferromagnetism.
- Describe critical phenomena in group theory.
- Distinguish between equilibrium and non-equilibrium statistical mechanics.
