Course Unit Description
Land resource assessment is a prerequisite to land-use planning process. Land evaluation is presented as a basis for land use planning putting into consideration the need of a multidisciplinary approach and involvement of key stakeholders from the start to the end. Various methods in land evaluation with emphasis on irrigated agriculture are explored including the economic aspects of land evaluation.
Course objectives
- Students will be exposed to the principles and methods of land evaluation as a basis for appraisal of irrigated agriculture.
Learning Outcomes
- The students will learn the principles and methods of land evaluation for irrigated agriculture as a basis of appraisal for irrigated agriculture and land use planning for irrigated agriculture. Focus will be on various methodologies and approaches thus enabling students to implement plans for irrigated agriculture.
