Side Navigation

Course Unit Description

Digital image processing including visual perception, image formation, spatial
transformations, image enhancement, color image representation and processing, edge detection, image segmentation, and morphological image processing.

Course Objectives

  • This course aims to enable students to analyze image processing problems and design algorithms to solve image processing problems and meet design specifications.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Apply knowledge of computing and mathematics appropriate to the discipline.
  • Analyze a problem and identify the computing requirements appropriate for its solution; an ability to design, implement and evaluate a computer-based system, process, component or program to meet desired needs.
  • Apply mathematical foundations, algorithmic principles and computer science theory to the modeling and design of computer-based systems in a way that demonstrates comprehension of the tradeoffs involved in design choices.
