BMT1201 Introduction to calculus

This module deals with Addition and subtraction of polynomials, multiplication and division of polynomials. Remainder theorem and factor theorem. Direct differentiation of explicit functions, differentiation of functions from first principles, product and quotient rule, chain rule, parametric equations, implicit functions, as well as Integration (Acceleration, velocity and displacement and many other concepts).

Course Objectives
By the end of the course, the student teacher should be able to:

• Enable him/her to define differentiation and their applications for further studies
• Enable him/her to define integration and use it in everyday life.
