Course Unit Description

The course is divided into different sections namely: Definition and types of resources, principles governing man’s resources use, harmonizing ecological productivity and the natural environment, culture and environment.  The resource potential of East Africa limitation of both the natural and human environment in relation to resources use and conservation  

Course Objectives 
By the end of the course the students should be able to:

  • Define the term resources and distinguish between renewable and non-renewable resource
  • Analyse the ecological principles governing resource use.
  • Examine the problems facing ecological productivity.
  • Explain the relationship between culture and environment. 
  • Assess the resource potential of the East African region.
  • Explain the limitations of the natural and human environment in resource.
