Course Unit Description
Elements of aquaculture, technological developments and environmental related issues are covered with a particular focus on fish farming. Aquaculture production systems are additionally covered with emphasis on ponds and cage systems. Aquaponics and integrated multi-trophic aquaculture, both of which integrate fish farming and farming plants are addressed.
Learning objective(s)
By the end of the course, students will be able to;
- Acquire knowledge and skills in freshwater fish farming. (b) Learn about the aquaculture production systems
- Learn about the recent innovations and technologies in aquaculture.
