Course Unit Description


This Course is designed to give students a hands-on experience in farm practice; by giving them the opportunity to actively participate in the farm during the semester.

Course Objectives
To equip students with knowledge and skills to enable them:

  • Carry out routine agricultural production activities
  • Identify and solve farm problems.
  • To adopt improved farming methods
  • To develop an interest in the agricultural profession

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course, a student should be able to: 

  • Carry out routine agricultural activities on the farm
  • Identify agricultural production problems on the farm
  • Exhibit positive attitude towards agriculture
  • Explain the farm infrastructure, water resources and construction materials
  • Appreciate the special aspect of housing with regard to common animal species.
  • Develop interest in the agriculture as a profession
  • Adopt improved/modern methods of farming
