Course Unit Description
This module seeks to give learners knowledge on production of annual crops, importance and agronomic practices involved
Course objectives
- Define cereals, legumes, tuber, root and fibre crops
- Outline their economic importance
- Explain the distribution of each crop in Uganda
- Outline, describe and demonstrate the various Agronomic practices involved e.g seed bed preparation, planting, weeding, fertilizer application, pest and disease control methods, harvesting, threshing, storage and marketing
Learning outcomes

- Outlining their economic importance
- Describing the ecological requirement
- Explaining the distribution of each crop in Uganda
- Demonstrating seedbed preparation, planting, weeding, fertilizer application, methods of pest and disease control, including identifying pests and diseases of each crop, harvesting, processing and marketing
