Course Unit Description

This module seeks to give learners knowledge on production of annual crops, importance and agronomic practices involved

Course objectives

  • Define cereals, legumes, tuber, root and fibre crops
  • Outline their economic importance
  • Explain the distribution of each crop in Uganda
  • Outline, describe and demonstrate the various Agronomic practices involved e.g seed bed preparation, planting, weeding, fertilizer application, pest and disease control methods, harvesting, threshing, storage and marketing

  • Explaining the distribution of each crop in Uganda
