This course looks at the performance engineering and the initial mathematical component that emphasis performance in the design of computer systems 

Course Objectives
The objectives of this course are to:

  • Introduce the various performance evaluation techniques in three broad categories of analysis, simulation, and experiment design
  • Apply the techniques to systematically evaluate the performance of computer sub-systems

Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:

  • Explain the importance of computer systems performance engineering
  • Understand workloads and software specifications in computer systems
  • Understand and apply the measurement techniques in systems development
  • Understand the basic concepts of queuing theory.
