The objectives of this course are to:
- Introduce the various performance evaluation techniques in three broad categories of analysis, simulation, and experiment design
- Apply the techniques to systematically evaluate the performance of computer sub-systems

- Explain the importance of computer systems performance engineering
- Understand workloads and software specifications in computer systems
- Understand and apply the measurement techniques in systems development
- Understand the basic concepts of queuing theory.
