Specific objectives of this course are to;
- Understanding of the physical, biological, and economic factors influencing the choice of crop
- Demonstrate insight in important interactions between plants and their physical environment that are essential for plant functioning, plant productivity and survival
- Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of crop growth and development and the influence of management on the components of yield
- Assess crop health and growth and utilize the observations made towards constructing management strategies
- Synthesize and critically appraise management strategies to optimize yield and quality in crop production with due regard to market constraints and the environment
